MASKS OF MORALITY HAS ENTERED A BEAUTY CONTEST!

Just for fun, I’ve entered the book cover design of Masks of Morality into the Sassy Brit Book Cover Award contest.

Well, okay, not just for fun. A design-win for marketing purposes would be most helpful.

I don’t know Sassy Brit’s real name, but from what I can see she’s a multi-talented and sassy British gal living in the U.K. who has elevated her own writing career to new heights by helping indie authors shine over her Alternative-Read.com website and other author services. She’s amazing!

But this post is not about her. It’s about my awesome book cover design. I just thought to give her a nice plug-in!

The contest is based on most creative and artistic design, and since Sassy’s site is themed “alternative,” I feel my counter-cultural, edgy grabber fits perfectly.  The conceptual design is mine, although I hired an award-winning book cover designer, Clarissa Yeo of Yocla Designs to polish it off.

I think it’s important for a book cover to pull the potential reader in with striking graphics to entice them to open the book.  Over the course of several months, I played with my Adobe Creative Suite software and took classes in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. I had the teachers help me create the word “Masks” with the tiny photos of masks inserted into the word, and painstakingly designed the rest of the cover myself. This is the design I had come up with:

I was proud of my first book cover design, but I knew I’m not a graphic design expert and did not want my debut novel to have a DIY design. Hiring Clarissa was the smartest thing to do, as she refined the look and used all professional guidelines.

If different or unique is what this audience wants, I think my cover design stands out on the literary catwalk. Please help me strut my sexy stuff by voting for Masks of  Morality

This is a time-sensitive contest that only lasts for the month of July. Please click on THIS LINK and keep scrolling to the bottom of the poll and vote section. Simply check off the small thumbnail version of my design and click vote. You can vote once a week until the end of July!

The cover with most votes for the month wins an author spotlight cover ad, a winners badge to display on their website and is entered into the Grand Final to be considered for Book Cover of the Year. This is a great marketing tool for me and I’d appreciate your support.

Thank you!
